Here's where I'm archiving old news items. This should contain every news item, including the latest 5 which I keep on the main page.
Note: Between days, things are in reverse-chronological order. Within a day, things are in chronological order. This feels simultaneously wrong and ideal. Whatever.....

- 2014-11-30:
- 2014-11-23: After almost 5 years I've finally made my second blog post! Lojban for Programmers Part 0: Introduction
- 2014-09-30: I updated the links and projects pages as follows.
- Added links to my GitHub profile, various projects on it, and some new technologies I'm using on the computer I update this site on.
- Updated some links to https (secure) versions.
- Sorted the technologies I use alphabetically and by current/former status.
- 2014-09-07 (announcement added 2014-09-30): I made a page about my browser use over the years. It currently covers through 2008.
- 2014-07-21: I've added a link to the most-discussed and most-cited thing I've ever written in the links page.
- 2014-05-28:
- Everything here is now public domain (and WTFPL for primitive jurisdictions that don't yet recognize public domain).
- Updated links page with updated URLs and another link.
- Added philosophy page with some things I feel comfortable always believing.
- Updated some links, minimized HTML code, and reworded a few minor things in the Refola story
- Added Google Analytics to the site and, in accordance with their policy, added a Privacy Policy.
- 2013-09-20:
- Added list of observed results to Google juice page.
- Changed Minecraft server page to say the server's running the latest version, instead of saying whichever version was the latest when I last updated the page.
- 2013-07-21: I'm starting a project to give my site enough Google juice to be above my online profiles when searching for my name, Mark Haferkamp.
- 2013-07-17 (added to news 4 days later): My Minecraft server is no longer 24/7. I'm now only running it when I'm actively using my computer. Everyone with the server's info should have my phone number to text me if they want it back on.
2013-06-19: There is going to be extended downtime of the Minecraft server due to changing internet access.... 2013-06-22: Disregard that; we're keeping the same ISP for the time being.- 2013-06-13:
- Added Minecraft page with info for my friends that join me on my Minecraft server.
- Changed date format in update listings to be numeric and follow the standard.
- Removed the embedded Twitter update stream gadget thingy because: (a) it wasn't working anymore and (b) I haven't "tweeted" since 2012-01-18 and the last one that wasn't just a "retweet" was on 2011-05-04.
- 2012-08-01: Updated links page with a couple more of my online profiles and other links.
- 2012-07-30: I'm quitting RuneScape. If you know me there, please email me at [my first name] @ [this site] to stay in contact.
- 2012-01-27: Added Mission and Prison to Fool's Dream.
- 2012-01-22:
- Site reorganization finished for a while. I think I did okay.
- Added a bit of a prelude for Fool's Dream.
- 2011-11-02:
- Split The Time Before into separate pages, one for each section.
- Currently working through site organization in general. I know that Cool URIs [URLs] don't change, but my site's URLs aren't cool and many will change during the reorganization. The only URL on this site that is "cool" at the moment is refola.com; I will personally keep it working until my death. From refola.com, everything else should be easy to find (i.e. no more than 5 clicks required to access any specific page and those clicks being obvious), but it isn't yet. Once I have my own server program running the site (any year now...), I'll automate URL coolness and most of navigation ease.
- Archived old news items into a history page.
- 2011-07-15: Finished The Time Before, though it could probably use a lot of refinement. Added a preliminary version of The Molten World which takes place parallel to the end of The Time Before.
- 2011-05-01: Added spam list of refola.com email addresses which are configured to auto-report all email as spam.
- 2011-01-26: More work on The Time Before. The whole thing was meant to be as long as about 2-3 of the current sections.
- 2011-01-23: Added JCactus as "Chief Astronomer and Science Consulter" and added a little more to The Time Before.
- 2011-01-15: Added my sister as an editor to this site, went through her initial suggestions, and added 2 more parts to The Time Before.
- 2011-01-14: Added a copyright page to look more professional-ish.
- 2011-01-11: My (egregiously outdated) blog is now located at blog.refola.com.
- 2011-01-10: Wrote and posted first 3 parts of The Time Before
- 2011-01-09: Made settings, outline, and timeline pages for Refola's story and filled in setting somewhat.
- 2011-01-08: Got some subdomains set up and added a basic site structure for the main and story sites.
- 2011-01-07: I finally got my own domain since it's only $10/year.
